Fuel Petcock Rebuild Kit

I've searched the Forum to no avail because I thought I saw in a thread that Honda still offered parts (i.e., the diaphram/O-ring and spring) to rebuild the petcock. I checked on a couple parts websites to see if these parts were available but again, no dice.

Has anyone for sure found a new petcock rebuild kit? I want a spare for the "Big Tank" I crafted but am not spending $132 + shpg from Ron Ayers for a new one.

I did find at JCW the below petcock rebuild kit for Goldwings and wonder if it would fit?

Thanks, I have a spare petcock I paid nothing for, which needs parts plus I have a real good one I paid about $40 or so for but wanted a kit cuz when they say "YOU ARE BIDDING ON THE REAR FUEL **** OFF OF A 2002 HONDA VTR1000F SUPER HAWK .STRAIGHT, GOOD WORKING ORDER.", I take it with a grain of salt. $45+ shpg min vs $24 for the GW kit if it works is the ? when its only for a good spare or knowing if the GW kit is our answer to our prayers.

Or did you mean this one?

Which says its for a '88-'90 VTR250 INTERCEPTOR. Which does not suck like a SH!

Thanks Greg. I saw this part on other sites but they did not list it. What is the 16953-ML0-024 coverset, petcock (California or Europe)?

I presume the "coverset" comes with the spring, diaphram & fuel plug.

Yes, they should come with the diaphragm, not sure about the spring. I've not ordered it but others on the forum have.

The -024 part, at least on the 97-98 CBR1100XX, replaces the -014. I would assume it's the same for the VTR since they are the same part. RonAyers reverse lookup doesn't list it, but Service Honda does.

Yes, it does list it but says it was superceded by the -024 but is $30.78, a few bucks more than Service. Is Service pricing generally lower than Ayers?

BTW, I'll probably wait till the end of the 08 season to send you my forks.

Thanks
