Fuel leaking into front Cyinder.

A few months ago I used the Carb Set-Up and did the whole shibang. Ran fine for the first week but after sitting over night it would get to TDC on one of the cylinders and I would have to wait about a min for the pressure to leak out, then it would start. So after my rear CCT went out I tore the bike apart and found that I had fuel in my front headder pipe and about 1 qt in the oil sump. I rebult the carbs and checked my floats and valves and all checked out.
I am not too familiar with carbs so I wasnt sure if the needle shim stack was too thick if it would let fuel out of the front carb and leak into the front cyl, OR if it the job of the the float and valve in the bowl of the carb that allows fuel out of the bowl. Both floats are dry inside and dunked them in a 10gal bucket to look for air bubbles and nothing... I feel like Im over thinking this. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Squid.

Fuel in the oil could be rings, fuel in the pipes could be its running too rich, among other things.

How does your engine rotate itself to TDC while resting?

Step one would be replace the float valve:
Honda, ATV Parts, Scooter Parts, Motorcycle Parts,CRF,CR,MX Parts, Goldwing parts
Pos #23

These should be replaced every couple of yeas anyways and it doesn't matter how it looks, it is not functioning properly.

This causes the bowl to overfill and drain into the cylinder.

Also make sure you clean the seat before you install the new (I would replace both) parts.

Next, rebuild your petcock. It is also leaking. One float bowl and the fuel line to it does not have enough fuel in it to completely fill a cylinder like you describe.

THANKS! I had a feeling that was the issue, but I didnt think about the petcock. Will order floats valves and and floats and a rebuild kit for the petcock in the am.

There is really no reason to change the floats unless they have a hole in them.

Hold them under water, no bubbles, good to go....

Though it never hurts to replace them.

My thought was since it is such a pain in the a$$ to get to the carbs that I might as well replace them now. Maybe I can make it another 4000 miles before I have to dig into them again. Who knows.

My brother has the samo problem on his GS1100.
The floats do not stop the fuel and he ends up(three times by now) with engine full of fuel and oil.

He did replaced the valves but still got the same problem.
