fuel drip, non start

Hi,
I have a 1998 VTR with 4500 miles, looking for some advice, I ride it once a month and have an annoying fuel drip out of the 2 carb vent lines that connect between the carbs, Runs and starts good, but,,,,
battery was low and it flooded, going to change the plugs and when I pulled the tank, the air filter had a lot of old fuel in it, may have been the leak. What would cause a mass dump of fuel like that.

Diaphragm is good, gas is new, battery charged and cranks over fine. though it may have been an electrical issue, but it started after that and ran a bit, I can tell there is fuel in the pipes as it smokes after, but will not idle and dies after a few seconds. it was pretty sudden. I blew the lines out on the carbs, vents from the tank also,

Since there are a lot of noted fuel issue, trying to see if any suggestions before I take it to the shop for a check. I thought the floats may be sticking, could still be I guess.

Likely the float valves. Check the oil for fuel contamination.
