Fuel

Hi guys ran the bike to get fuel 3miles away filled up with usual e5 super unleaded and soon as I left it almost stopped crawled home popping blowing back going to one cylinder.
Had to slip the clutch lots seemed better over 4k rpm but obviously didn't fancy giving it to much , any thoughts ?

Immediately call the gas station and tell him you got a bad batch of gas

By the way you don't need high octane, regular gas is fine in a superhawk unless it Has high compression pistons and maybe a hot cam or 2

Drain all the gas out of the tank and fill it with fresh gas of a known quality Be sure to drain the float ***** and charge the battery and start it again maybe add some techron concentrate while you're at it

I have over 100,000 miles on my 98 and usually use regular gas and techron occasionally

The only time you really need E0 if possible is when you store it full over the winter drain the float bowls.

GL!

To high octane....E5 is 97 The Superhawk is a 9:5 to 1 engine.. Runs fine on 91 octane...
Engine was intended to operate on 87, 88 octane

Mine does fine on 87, even 91 is wasteful and actually it may run hotter on it...

Since day one, I've always used the lowest octane available. As stated, the Hawk does not need 91 or higher.

did you fill it to the neck? check the fuel cap breather isnt air locking the tank..

strange reading what you guys run petrol wise? we have E5 95 octain over the pond here and mine much prefares the 97.... fair enough its not standard but the storms i have had all liked the higher grades of fuel
