Fairing installation
Fairing installation
Would the fairings prefer to be r&r'ed in one piece or is that asking for trouble? Mine were trashed when I removed them so I'm not sure how the new ones want to go back.
Ok thanks, so I put the three pieces together on the bench and do it just like that. I thought that might work, or I might bust tabs on my new oem stuff. I'll be careful!
My E-Bay Chinese fairings came in 3 pieces for the front. Once assembled it was "one" piece.
I have installed the fairings dismantled and connected.
Connected is the easiest. BE VERY CARFUL, the mounting tabs on the bike protrude from the frame, not properly placing the joined piece may result in you scratching the HELL OUT OF YOUR NICE FAIRING.
Just get the mounting holes lined up and put the bolts in loose. Once you have everything connected, tighten it up.
******My Chinese fairings had the mounting tabs epoxied to them after they were fabricated. Where as the OEM fairings had the mounting tabs INCLUDED in the initial mold.
I highly recommend adding additional epoxy all around your Chinese fairing mounting tabs to reinforce them.
