exhaust question?

i would like to make the hawk a single exhaust for cosmetic reasons. i would build a new set of headers having the front run the same way but have it run up through the hole next to the rear shock where the rear pipe goes down. it would run up through the hole connecting with the rear pipe and then go under the tail. the problem is i dont know if the front pipe being lets just say 2.6' and the rear being 6" before the y pipe will make the bike run like crap. does anyone have a answer. i know that stock honda made the rear pipe curl to add lenght to somewhat match the front pipe.

dont change the midpipe design far from what it is, or you will detune the thing.
If you only care about cosmetic appearance, of course anything is possible.
But if you want it to run right, you cant just stick some pipes on there like a harley.

I agree. This would need to be considered carefully to optimise gas flow in my opinion. An exhaust builder would be the right person to consult with your ideas, but my initial thoughts are that you will need to maintain a reasonable pipe length for a street engine.

Take off the whole exhaust...
Get some of them universal briggs and stratton galvanized steel mufflers for 6-12 hp motors.
Stick em on the exhaust ports right next to the head.
Jet the carbs real rich so flames pop out of the ports when you let off the gas.
