Engine frame bolt torque setting

Installing frame sliders with the 90-degree bow (so no faring cutting). I need the torque setting of the engine mount bolt right behind the choke. I believe the bolt is 14mm sized.

Re: Engine frame bolt torque setting

Umm, I tourqed my frame sliders to really freaking tight. Those bolts are pretty strong so I would just get them tight. Sorry I don't have the specs but I haven't had any issues with mine yet. Of course I haven't tested them and hope not to but the bolts haven't backed out and I didn't pull any threads out of the block.

Torqed the bolts to 64lbs but before the torque wrench would "give" because the bolt seemed to not tighten anymore just very very slowly rotate and I didn't want to strip it. Aftermarket bolts after all.

Yeah, the ones that came with mine were kinda cheap too. I went to the local nut and bolt shop (can you beleive they've got a nut and bolt shop!) and bought the strongest ones they had. I think it cost me about three bucks.
