Engine acting up at low speeds.

Hey guys,

I have a 1998 Superhawk, I have recently been riding through an area that has a 25mph speed limit and in 1st gear the bike is around 4500rpm and in 2nd gear about 2500/2750rpm and in either gear it has the same issue.

Here's the issue, every so often (not in a regular pattern) I hear and feel a click/pop (the noise seems to come from directly below the tank) and the bike stutters. Once I get past the 25 zone and in to the 35 zone, where I usually go about 40-45, everything is fine.

What would cause this to be happening and what could I do to fix it.

Carb Fart - perfectly normal and just make sure idle is set around 1200-1300 to lessen the chance of stalling in low speed turns.

Yup carb farts. In a 25 zone cruising why are you running first gear?
