Clutch problem

Hi to everyone. I am new to the forum and looking for advice.

My 98 Super Hawk is not shifting. I pull the clutch lever in and it does not disengage the clutch

I has been sitting for the winter (~6months)

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Joe

Check for fluid in cup. Bleed clutch at slave cylinder, just like bleeding brakes. See any fluid leakage anywhere?

Peter,

Have not see any leaks on the bike or concrete. I thought the same when I had the problem. I'll bleed the clutch per your suggestion.

Thanks,

Joe

Yes bleed the clutch is the first step. Welcome to the forum and it's always good to have another bay area rider. If you can't figure it out, let me know and i can swing by and help you out with it.

Slave leaks right in front of the kickstand and/or all over it IIRC.

Mine got some air from somewhere over the winter, I bled it at the master and it was as mediocre as ever.

Greatings from Portugal,
Mine went completely dry over this winter (stoped for 6 months) and not one drop in the floor or in the engine.
So i refill it and it´s new again.
Where did it go? Dont know! But it´s pumpin again.

Atention, the plastic cup tend to be yelowish over the years, and we´ll think the oil level it´s ok, when it´s already low or dry.

Thanks to everybody for your help!! I really appreciate all of you guys taking the time to help me out.

8541Hawk, Thanks for the offer to help out. I see you have been out on Stage Rd., from the picture of "terminator". Last time I was out there he was gone.
