Re: Chain/sprocket recommendations.

WOT,
How'd the 16/43 work for you?
I'm thinking of going the same way, and I also have a freeway commute.
Thanks

I like the 16/43 combo much better. Geared the SH down enough to have better acceleration but not enough to rev like crazy when on the highway.

This is the gearing it should have come with new.

I have this set up right now and love it on the track but not so much on street. It's not real bad but I find myself looking for 6th when I'm already there. I found a 41 tooth on ebay real cheap so I'll use that for street and the 43 for track days. The 43 let me keep with my friends gixxer 1000 on the track!

Re: Chain/sprocket recommendations.

I changed my stock gearing -1,+1 with a afam 520 sprocket kit. I used a DID 520 ERV3 gold chain. Personally I think it's ****!! I've put approx 3000 mls. on it and no regrets. I responds MUCH faster pulling through the twisties and and not too bad on the commuting thing. Just looking for a speedo recalibrating box. Anyone got one??

Supposed to be the best one for the money.

MCN reviewed it on a superhawk in the 09/05 issue. They have a link to the article.

Going 1 down on the front is equivalent to going 3 up in the back.
