CCT Replacement

HI,

I am around the Omaha,NE area. I am looking for someone within 75 miles or so who has experience doing the CCT replacement. I will pay you, and maybe I can learn something at the same time. I just don't want to take it to the stealer where it is just another bike.

No one in the vicinity? I called the Stealer today and they wanted 670.00. He claims Honda warranty is 6.75 hours time. I told him I knew they could do it quicker than warranty time, but he said that was their rate.

6.75 hrs hahaha, I am no trained mechanic and I have done it in an hour while bs'ing with my pals.

I just did mine and was pretty nervous about it. Turns out there was no reason to worry at all. If you know how to work a ratchet and have any common sense just do it. You'll be glad that YOU did it yourself-and not just because you're saving yourself $670. Print out the sticky on CCT replacement, read all the other stuff people have written on here about doing it, be patient, and don't drop anything in there!!! You'll be laughing at that mechanic's quote when you're finished.

I just added an update and photo - it is not a hard task, you need to take your time and do it correctly. Remember to order new CCT gaskets too.

Its not hard to do, just take your time and verify everything while putting it back together. this is probably in the kb article but small zip ties can be used to hold the chain and sprockets in place while you do the changeout.

Yes - use zip ties, and stuff a rag in the openings, just in case...

Here is a photo, (note that the chain guide has been removed). See the zip ties holding the chain to the sprockets, and the lables on the hoses so that I put the tank back on correctly.

I'm a little more than 75 miles away, but I might be the closest. Road trip to Sioux Falls?
