CCT question

I just picked up a 2001 and will be doing the CCT stopper mod. (Remove plunger head and fill the gap so it can't retract too far in the event of a spring failure.)

For those of you that have done this mod do you remember how long your spacer had to be? and what did you use for the spacer?

I know every bike will be different and I will measure but I would like to make up a few different spacers of varying lengths before I start. I don't have a proper work area where the bike is stored. Having pre made spacers will save me time and driving.

Why not go with manual ones right away ? You'll be in their anyway, and, will be much safer than spacers IMHO. :O)

Don't remember ever having anyone have to adjust manual ones. Once they're in, you're pretty safe with adjustement.

I do get the 0$ point though. Anyway, if no one chimes in with the info, I believe I still have the OEM ones in a box at home. I can take a pic for you with measurements tonight.

Thanks Jack but I think I found the answer on the UK site.
".........depending on your engine the stopper length is going to vary, I have seen them as small as 8mm long and as lond as 12, so dont think 1 size fits all. You have to measure each one and make the stopper to suit"

Yes due to chain stretch. Whoever came up with the stopper had his thinking cap on
