blinker problems

Back before winter actually hit I started having problems with my blinkers when the temp started dropping, I was riding it in about 40 degrees when it first started. I would turn the blinked on to turn and wouldnt come on but a couple minutes later it would be on and it got to where it won't come on. Is it the temp change, a short or the relay ?

Well... This is something you would find an answer to using search as it's been discussed a couple of times...

To start you off though, it's likely to be the grease in the switch being old and filled with dirt/moisture... Disassemble and clean it, and give it a liberal gob of vaseline... For more details, https://www.superhawkforum.com/forums/search.php

Just fired up mine today. It's 32 degrees in Wisconsin! Yeah mine don't work below 40 F. It's just a Superhawk thing.

Hey tweety, you think Vaseline is better to use than Dielectric grease? I was thinking about getting a tube and going through my connections a lil' bit at a time over the course of this summer...

Go with dielectric grease, save the vaseline for....something else

I had the same problem today...first ride in sub 40 degree weather...seemed like the left signal would come one sooner than the right, for whatever reason....but both were delayed a few seconds at the least

The dis-assemble and grease can help. A new switch unit also helps. It isn't the most long living piece on the hawk.

Yep, mine did it yesterday also in the 40's. Must be a cold thing.

You should try them in the teens. It helps to move the wires coming out of the switch
