Airbox gasket poll

I'd noticed that I didn't have the rubber seals for the groves around the upper and lower portions of the airbox so I ordered a pair when getting a new air cleaner. Now I think I know why they were missing. What a pain in the a$$ keeping the gaskets in while manuevering the already unwieldy filter and cover into place. I ended up ripping them out anyway, waste of ten bucks! Just wondering how many people have kept these gaskets in over the years? It seems to me that the air cleaner fits and seals pretty well without. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Re: Airbox gasket poll

My air filters, stock and K&N, are both sandwiched between the top and bottom of the air box. I've never seen a gasket.
