hello everyone i need help bad i have a 99 vtr i just had it in the shop for work they put new valves in the front cylinder did a carb sync adjusted the timeing and the rear valves put a new air filter in great so now the bike has power if i am easy on the throttle and bild up my rpms but if i start out easy and cruse around 4000 rpm and then i get on it say to catch up to someone or whatever from 5 1/2 to 8000 rpm it starts to cut out lose of power just not the same any more it was faster before all this workit seems like it has a miss or somthing someone plz help

 

did they put a stock air filter back in it? The high performance air filters such as K&N will give the super hawk problems.

 

Check for PVLIR (do a search) and also check that all the vacuum lines are hooked up.

yes it is a stock air filter

 

PVIR Mine behaved similarly and thats how it felt.

ok guys checked all that stuff everything is in the right place so still no luck

 

its a long shot but i had a small bug stuck in my main jet that caused my back cylinder to miss

 

If they did all that. Take it back to the shop something isnt right.

 

A small possibility may be a torn fuel petcock diaphragm.
I had to change mine 3 years ago. I had similar symptoms.
It doesn't happen very often, but if you feel like removing the tank and opening the petcock, you will know for sure.
