F.S: 1998 Honda Vtr sold
I already hate myself for doing this but I have too many bikes. This has been my pride, joy and my money pit. We have history together and I am going to miss it. I bouight it back in december of 2003 with 14k miles on it and I put 19k on it since. Bike has 33k miles on it now, mostly highway and touring. I only rode it in the dry. Bike never seen the rain. I managed to dump a lot of money into it over the past 3 years. Here is the list of extras. Bike has a clean title and no liens on it.
Extras include:
Zero Gravity DB smoke windscreen
Chrome rims. Couple spots are chipped but can't notice til you are a foot away.
Racetech .95 springs
Tokico 6-piston brake calipers conversion
EBC HH sintered pads 3k miles on them
EBC Prolite Brake rotors 3k miles on them
Russel SS brake lines
Matching Gixxer Master cylinder and lever
Polished frame and swingarm
BMC race air filter
Lightened flywheel
APE manual cam chain tensioners
Factory Pro Ti jet kit with .50 pilots and 182f/185r main jets.
Milled and ported heads with new head gaskets
Oversized exhaust valves
Moriwaki stg 1 cams
Full two brothers exhaust SS
Painted lower fairing and subframe
Brand new Honda Regulatpr/rectifier (200$)
Yoshimura stiffer clutch springs (not installed)
DID 530 chain with brand new steel sprockets 43r and 16f
Spare parts that come with the bike:
Original calipers and pads
Brand new clutch that I got for free when I bought the heads
A set of stock heads
A set of Carbs
a set of tools
and a honda service manual
I have maintained this bike religiously. Oil is changed every 3k miles with Shell Rotella T synthetic. The bike was laid down last year in a 30 mph lowside on Gravel. It was purely cosmetic, hence the color scheme and new paint. I have pics to prove that. If you have any questions email me at oscarelian@yahoo.com or pm me. Dyno pics at the bottom. This is one of the most powerfull SH on the street.
Price:3500$

Sweet bike
Just curious as to whether or not you've tried running it and the R1 side by side to get an idea of the relative performance of each. While I fully expect the R1 would annihilate the VTR on top-end, just curious as to how they fare at real-world speeds.
cheers

I ran them together a few times. In 6th gear, I would get a jump on the R1 til the R1 reaches about 120 and then he is gone. But if we go ***** out with downshift, I don't stand a chance.

Really nice bike. It looks like a money pit - it's beautiful. The other bikes in the barn must be very impressive to part with this one. The rims look great and the paint scheme works really well. Good luck with the sale but I think you should sell the car.

LOL. I thought about selling the car but here in Michigan, bikes do not work well in the snow. The other 2 bikes that I own are a 1972 Honda CB 175 with 4k miles, all original and a 2004 R1 that I just got. I had a blast with the SH. I learned a lot and put a lot of miles on it. Great bike overall, especially on the street. I had to buy the R1 as my best friend is getting a divorce. I could not let it go. Unfortunately, that meant that the SH needs to go to a good home.

OK, well do this! Sell the car and buy a truck. Put a camper top on the truck and put the SH in it. Love MI but you're right none of the bikes are good in the snow. Divorce is hard on bikers. They love hitting below the belt in these kinds of things. I understand where you are. Either way, it's a way cool looking Superhawk and apparently its performance is right up there with its looks! Really nice job!
I still think you should keep it! Yours is the first black bike that I like. I've always said the SH has too many colors on it. The black/silver combo on your bike is great!

Thanx man, I appreciate those kind words. I might end up keeping it if it doesn't sell. We shall see.
