30 mm offset triple clamps?

I'm looking to reduce my fork offset to 30 mm from the std 35mm but for economic reasons wish to retain the stock forks which I've already upgraded the internals plus I have marchesini wheels that fit and don't want to swap everything out, etc.

So does anyone know of any 30 mm offset clamps from another model that will accomodate 41mm forks and fit the 'Hawks steering head?

Tx!

I think they are around 35mm too but I'll try to measure some.

Maybe its too early in the morning and I cant think straight, but wouldn't reducing the offset, increase the trail and slow the steering?

Albeit a bit expensive perhaps, you could try fitting a 1998-99 CBR900RR front end as it features a 30 mm offset (earlier models were at 35 mm). In addition to getting the offset you want, it is also much more rigid and gives you compression adjutability. I am running forks from a 96 and so have the 35 mm set-up.

Just a thought....

Aas for Fozzy, you are correct. In the case of the aforementioned 900, the offset was reduced to increase stability.

RCVTR is an unknown quantity at this point

Yes it will. It's necessary when you increase the rear ride height and steepen the head angle. And ride the **** out of it to the point where you need more trail for stability.

5 mm is a lot. From what I've been told 32.5 is the good offset number. 30 mm will probably make the steering overly heavy.

can you remove the clips on the forks and raise the front up a bit?

Harris make an adjustable yoke for about a grand.

Anyone can confirm the 35mm offset in the original VTR F configuration? Thanks!
