190/55 take off ok for track day?

I have been looking for takesoffs for a track and and I am finding 190/55-17, not 180/55-17. I see that Dunlop does not makes the 180 for the race tires. I know for the street they are bad news, but would they be ok for track days. I can get a set of of GPA's for $160 with about 70% tread ware left.

Thanks for the input all!

These are the tires in question: Dunlop GP-A Track Tire 190/55-17 and Dunlop GPA 211 Front 120 70 Tire (90% thread left)

Depends on the track day org. as to weather or not they would deem that tire to still be safe at the track as they inspect the whole tire and not just the center of it.

From the pics its hard to tell but it looks like the edges are cut down to the wear bar and if thats the case some track day org. wont let you run that tire anymore (hence why the guy may be replacing it)

And honestly for $100 for the rear, I'd look at getting a new set of rubber rather than ride on someone elses used tire.

It'd make a good street tire for someone like me that doesn't get the bike down that far, but I don't know about a track tire. Someone with more experiance than myself may have a differing opinion however

Thanks, thats great input. I may just suck it up and go with the Q2 or Q3, as everyone else, just trying to save some funds, but not to compromise safety.

100 is way too much for a take off. 30-50 is more OK.
