Honda Boots / Steel Toe Boots Cheap at sierratradingpost.com
Not necessarilly my cup of tea, but I thought I'd pass this along anyway. Prices depend on how much you spend and what discounts apply -- YMMV.
Honda Motorcycle Athletic Riding Boots (For Men), Honda Motorcycle Riding Boots - Low (For Men), or Honda Motorcycle Riding Boots - Mid (For Women) for $40 or $32 for 1st time customers spending > $75. (See http://www.sierratradingpost.com/d/3...cessories.html)
Cheap enough for me - $185 Chippewa Durability Steel Toe Boots (For Men) for $ 28 or $23 for 1st time customers spending > $75. (See http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Pro...x?baseno=72506) (might expire this weekend)
(1) 1st time shopper can take 20% off everything on orders >$75 AND (2) Googlecheckout customers can take an additional $10 using code "WDGB8".
(See http://www.sierratradingpost.com/NC20/). If you use the 20% off link, it works only once, so get everything right the 1st time. Use (1) and (2) for big discounts or (2) to offset shipping.
Use https://www.google.com/accounts/Serv...2_SmB_ltlv_1_0 to set-up Googlecheckout account.
Enjoy.

Believe it or not heavy steel toed boots are not the best thing if you suffer a lower leg impact in an accident. The extra weight places more of a strain on everything if your leg hits something and can actually do more harm than good. They can make your leg hit with more force making broken bones and torn up knees more likely. I got a pair of Alpinestars and for $30 a used pair of Fox mountainbike knee/shinguards off ebay. They fit under jeans like a champ and you'll forget they're even there in no time. An added benefit is if you ever ride in any cool/cold weather they cut the wind down to almost nothing. They've allowed me to walk away more than once...Trust me $30 and a couple hundred for a good pair of boots vs 80K for the FIRST WEEK of a hospital stay seems like a fair trade off to me.
