Oh yeah, the other thing is that the hawk is my main form of transport. For 4 yrs of college I commuted 70 miles each way all year round from long island to Brooklyn 5-7 days a week.
Thats why I'm a little less hesitant than most to venture out. I live on 2 wheels, I am more scared in a car.

Last Monday I took a spin on the VTX and it was a little uncomfortable. I wore the FS mesh armored jacket and shorts and helmet but when I took a break, even walking about in the shade it was just too *hot*. Maybe 92* hot and I'm not talking city stuff either just country. Shortly the hideous luvbugs will swarm and I'll be deadlined for 6 weeks unless I ride at night. Speaking of which I took a night ride on Wednesday and it was fabulous.
