Tested out my new commute yesterday... 89mi, S. Sac to Hayward, CA.
Started out 38deg and fog, fog broke and sun came out about 20mi later but now I'm wet and still quite chilly.
Wouldn't have been so bad, but I didn't dress for it, summer gloves, decent riding jacket, blue jeans, and a single pair of socks...
Next comes overcast and traffic, splitting lanes for almost 10mi through Livermore... sun didn't come back out, finished up about 48deg an hour and a half later.

Only thing that got me through it was my Minnesota/Wisconsin childhood, ridin' snowmobiles as fast as they would carry us in the dead of winter, until our entire bodies were numb... then deciding it might be time to turn around and head home.

Man I wish we had snowbanks like that. I have access to five brand new sleds and cannot ride due to lack of snow......

My brothers went through years of no-snow conditions in Minnesnodalot. The last few years have been better and now things are kinda back to the day - *** deep! I was never into sleds but we ran the hell out of the Jeeps and Toyotas.

Snow sure looks pretty from a distance, especially a long distance.
Hence my long distance move from Kansas City back in '84.

I love California, even though it's been in the 40's here in the mornings so I had to run the heated grips...........
