IOC to Drop Olympic Wrestling starting in 2020

The IOC is like the NCAA - clowns - old men collecting money off the sports/work of others. No one checks these fools.

Sports News | Wide World of Sports - ABC News

How in the world do they consider dropping wrestling from the Olympics??

Just madness, Wrestling is the essence of the Olympics.

I wrestled in HS and still follow it. I'm lucky enough to live in a area in which its considered a top sport - Lehigh Valley, Pa. The IOC dropping it would ruin USA wrestling at all levels. Its barely holding on in the college level.

I urge all to contact their Olympic organizations & any others that you deem can reverse this craziness!

The International body for wrestling is FILA - fila@fila-wrestling.com

USA Wrestling @ rbender@usawrestling.org

USOC @ communications@usoc.org

PLEASE Email - call - send smoke signals

Thanks for ur time

Wait, what? Can you even still call it the Olympics if you do that. Yeah, wrestling was one of the charter sports. Not that wacky ski around and shoot, or curling. Wow that is nuts.

Maybe the chairmans chick left him for a wrestler, or the sport makes him feel like he isnt a man, or something similar. Same problems motorcyclists have.

I couldn't figure out for the life of me why... must be something like you said. They'll probably take out track and field next, cause javelin throwing doesn't have anything to do with tradition or Greek competition.

I think they should add more swimming events, though, or at least cover more of them. I'd very much like to see more qualifying events and a 60M, 70M, 80M and 90M freestyle.

Yeah right? Sports has become who hires the loudest publicist. Phelps (I hate even mentioning him) musta hired the Al Sharpton of publicists.

Same leading up to the superbowl. Who was it, Ray Lewis? Hours and hours of coverage on this guy. It gets nauseating. Or in the last Olympics Gabby Douglas. You would think she was the only athlete competing. (but she had Offrah on her side.)

Wrestling = the oldest and most global sport in the world. Removing it for baseball or wushu (kung fu dancing?) is a huge step away from global relevancy.

Please remember you don't matter. Big business is paying for all of it so they get to call the shots. Actually that's not entirely true, tax payers end up footing the real cost.
Curling, now that's something I'll stay up late to watch. No offense to all of you that live in the great white north.
I've got one that the IOC should consider, naked bee keeping. You get extra points for using African bees.
