When the h-e-double hockeysticks isn't conditions iffy on a irish roadcourse?

I know one year they debated if the Southern 100 would be cancelled since part of the course had been dug up fixing something last minute, leaving a five feet gravel band across the road... Most of the riders voted to go anyway, saying it was on a straight so it didn't matter much... But the organizers managed to get a road crew out there last minute and put some tarmac over it just hours before the event started...
