Talking Dyno results are in. I am pretty happy.

Well, with the Moriwaki cams, milled and ported head, the VTR put down 114.4 hp @9,300 rpms and 68.9 ft/lb @7,500 rpms. The dyno tech told me that was the strongest VTR he ever dynoed. Thanx goes out to RCVTR for the Moriwaki bits. Thanx again. I have the Dyno sheets but they are too big and in Bitmap format. I couldn't upload them to the site as they were too large. I tried photoshop and I cannot open any Bitmap with it. I can email them to anyone who could post them on here.

Wow! That's impressive.

You can open bmp files using MS Paint, then resize the file. Also, saving the file as a jpg will lower the file size.

Thanx guys. I liked the results too. He said he can squeeze more power out of it. The tech is a vtwin guru and he loves VTRs. My goal is to have the most powerful naturally aspirated VTR out there. LOL, I am having so much fun.

The first graph is before and after comparison and the second pic is just HP and TQ.

I know, he said it is pretty torquey. But the thing is it runs sooooo smooth, like butta. Removing the PAIR system helped a lot.

You're not about to slide down that slippery slope...you've got the skis strapped on and are going head-first!

Moriwaki cams

Very COOL!! Thanks Ozzie.
I always wante to dyno mine and didn't get it done.
that torque curve is just what I was hoping to see. good heads, if I do say so myself.
Put a full Moriwaki exhaust system, Moriwaki pistons and HRC ignition and you'll be there. Man I miss that bike!!!

Yeah but my bike puts down 194hp @ 5000rpm if I program the dyno for a four cylinder. Much cheaper than cams and porting.

Pretty hype.

I can see the HP gain in the graphs, but I don't see torque gain.
How did the cams affect the torque curve ?
before vs after ?

congratulations, now you need hi-comp pistons, then.......

I must say I feel pretty good about my VTR now as it dynoed 68.8 ft-lbs with slips-ons and a DJ kit (only 105.5 hp though as it didn't keep the torque up as long)

Yeah, my first 98 pulled about the same numbers as yours BUT....

that was on a dyno-jet dyno which read higher than the super-flow designs that was used by Azzkiker's shop. Very important to compare apples to apples.

My WAG is on a dynojet dyno, his would be putting out about 118-119hp and 72lb-ft. Anyone know of a conversion calc?

You won't believe it. First of all, I put the heads on myself including the flywheel. I just brought it to the garage to have it timed and dyno tuned. The tech retorqued the heads, put the radiators together and all the bits and pieces, 4-5 dyno runs, I don't remember. 300$ total. He hooked me up. He had a lot of fun too.

for 107 hp, it had stock internals, full two bros exhaust, factory pro jet kit and a BMC filter.
I didn't pay attention to the inside temp or atmospheric pressure. My eyes were on the Dyno graphs.

i don't have that sheet but torque pretty much was higher accross the board especially from 5500 rpms and up where it gained 4 ft.lb acroos the range til 10k rpms.

So roughly $1000 spent, and about 10 HP and 5 Ft lbs gained?
Sorry, just trying to do a cost/benefit thing here.

what did the air/fuel look like?could you see the cause of the dip between4,800 to 6,000 rmp in the hp and torque,in the air fuel?

You think he spent a lot? You should have seen how much I spent! Time AND money. Worth every penny, too.

I was not so interested in the torque numbers as the characteristic of the torque curve. Increasing with increasing RPM until the cams sign off. I know, it's a combination thing and you can't really separate wht happens with just cams without testing on a stock head. I tried to keep the characteristic Honda port shape, because they have all the money and smart people to get the design right. I just put a smaller radius on the sides of the port floor to make the floor wider, worked around the valve guides and blended the bowls to the seats.

Looks like you've got the mixture pretty dialled too. Smooth curve. The dip is characteristic. Maybe needle height. My guess is needle profile.
