i think that it would be closer, we never thought about doing it from that high of speed, may have to later on, right now he is is Nevada.
i have another friend with a black evo that runs low 7's in the 1/8, i think that him and i would be a realy good race.

nice run, loved the sound when you nailed it. i don't know what a hawk will run in the 1/8th, i know a guy thats got an sv1000 thats running 7.4's though.

lol, we are almost neighbors im in Lynn Haven, which is basicly right here at Panama City..
oh and my best is 7.36@99 in the 1/8 mile, can't go to far with WOT in 1st and have to shift early into 2nd gear every time. wished i could find some swingarm extensions for the bike, i know i could get it in the 6's. friends of mine have GSXR 600's modded, geared, and extended running 7.0's @100. if i could keep the front down and be able to use all power in 1st gear, i know i could get it in the 6's.

sweet, i'll be in the area next month for spring break, may even stay with some friends in lynn haven for spring break, if ya want, pm me and i'll get up with ya,
ever try pulling down the front to keep the forks from extending on acceleration, just pulling it down a little helps a lot, and stiffen up the preload on the rear shock, it keeps the weight from transfering to the back tire, helping the front stay on the ground. (my dad is an avid drag racer, car runs 5.90's in the 1/8th. races at breakway some, mostly dothan) it MIGHT make it a little unstable on top end cause it pulls the geometry so far in. also don't totally collapse it, will blow fork seals.

In the dragracing sense, more preload actually starts you out with less weight on the back tire, though weight will still transfer to the rear tire when taking off, just that it takes more power to wheelie.

yeah, he's trying not to wheelie. it was meant to go with compressing the front end. by limiting the travel in the front end, it keeps the stored energy in the spring from helping push the front off the ground, and the front end from gaining inertia from it rising through the stroke.
i get what yours saying with the preload though, i just suggested that to get more weight over the front end. i know in most drag racing applications you want weight transfer to get all the weight on the rear tires, but if its not spinning, every inch its coming up, it could be going out.

thanks fellas, i am hoping to go to Breakaway this Sunday if the weather doesn't fall out of the sky. and i was planning on strapping the front wheel down, and the left seal is already leaking, i haven't gotten it fixed yet.
so, what you guys are saying is that i need to rais the rear spring, right now it is set at the second notch from the bottom.

On the subject of Evo's and motorcycles (and Deal's Gap too for that matter)
It's about 10 mins long, but some good driving/riding
