the bmw looks pretty good and i like the asymmetric headlites. What i really like is the low weight and high torque, and the pricetag is artificially low(but still too high for my budget)to compete with the jap superbikes. That ought to get a bunch of them out there and add to the variety which makes things more interesting for all of us. Of course the Italian bikes are have it all in terms of character and sex appeal.

sure confidence and the right attitude is good. but bmw talking trash about seriously competing against the japanese is crossing the line from confidence to naivete. sure you might get in the game but you're not going to beat the veterans.

I do not disagree that the Ducati is a fine piece of machinery. The only drawback to owning one is that you have to be a master mechanic, or have deep pockets, to keep one running.

Sex on 2 wheels got to be Italian & in my book it is still the Duc 916 followed by MV Agusta F4!
Even the new Duc 1198 is just a rehash 916 design theme on steroid while the 999 practically lost it
The Bimmer is for me an engineering marvel much like the big 4 Japs but no sex I guess!
