what's required for stage 3 jets?
bought my bike last monday. guy told me the bike has a stage 3 jet kit on it. Bike also has full erion racing pipes (no baffles) and not sure if there's a K&N or not... Bike runs fine but I'm just curious if this would be overkill for what I have because what I've read it says for stage 3 you want like individual air filters for a stage 3 kit... basically me = bike appears to be running perfectly fine and is guzzling enough gas

In general: free flowing exhaust and intake, head work, and higher compression. Stage III generally translates to "race engine."
The stage terms are not based on any recognized standard, though. They're simply manufacturer's label indications.

Is it a full-race engine? Where is redline? Stage 3 heads have extensive port work and stage 3 cams. Bottom end will have extensive crankshaft work (bullnosing, polishing, etc.) and Carillo rods.
Powerband would be in the 8-12k rpm range. Redline about 12.5k.

Sounds like a Factory Pro jet kit.
Give them a call and they will tell you what has to be done to install their kit.
http://factorypro.com/
Depending how they set up the kit different air filter(s) might not be necessary.
The factory airbox works darn well on these bikes.
Modifications to the airbox and/or removal has caused people problems unless they have high flow, ported heads. (at least what I have read)
If it runs well just have fun riding it (and buying gas every 100 miles
I bet it runs GREAT with the pipes & jet kit !

what I think I'll do eventually here is try and get it to a bike dyno and check out my a/f and get it completely tuned properly. Though that won't happen for sure until spring. It's fine for now. Will check my sync though once my r/r gets put on
