SIL slip-ons?

Hello to everyone! I'm new to the board - guess that makes me a squid. Bought my 'Hawk at the end of March and been enjoying it! Haven't really started to modify anything, but there are lots of things I would like to do and plan on doing - time and money dependent!

I just came accross an online shop up here in Canada selling SIL pipes. I don't know anything about them? Can anyone fill me in? I was thinking of going with the Yosh RS-3's, but I'm interested with the SIL's. Any advice?

-Thanks!

SillyHawk is an unknown quantity at this point
If you do a google search you will find answers...seems they are Mostly for Ducati and MV bikes. did the site you found say anything about them being compatable with Hondas?

The site had them listed as "SIL Motor vtr 1000F 97-03 LowMount Titanium Slipon" - they also had a High Mount listed as well. I found the Sil Motor site - but the ony thing I saw listed there was for the SP1 - except there wasn't anything listed specifically for it. I had a quick look around elsewhere, but didn't come up with much info.

Question So nobody knows anything about SIL?

Do I smell bad? Is it cause I'm new? Do you hate me already? :-( Ok but seriously, does anybody know anything about SIL? This store had a set of Ti slip-ons for under 1k Canadian. Thought it sounded too good to be true. Probably is, but.... anyone?

And perhaps my "web-search" skills suck, but I didn't find much except that some guys who put them on their Ducatis really like them. Is that enough to go on?

Thanks!

Call me Mister WTF but I recently offloaded a Ducati that had Yoshimura slip-ons which I thought were exclusively and only for Japanese bikes. The good news about buying an out-of-production bike is that just about anyone who wants an aftermarket exhaust already has one, so if you start searching the companies that sell aftermarket exhausts you might be able to strike a really good deal with somebody.

Sorry, IslandHawk. Nobody here hates you. When I'm not at work, I generally eat, breathe, and sleep motorcycles. I think I've only ever heard of one reference to SIL exhaust, and I think it was on eBay.

BTW, a warm welcome to you! Glad to have you on the site. If and when you do get this exhaust maybe you can post some pics for all of us to see?

Welcome fellow Canuck I would recommend you discover the wonderful world of eBay as there are known brand slips-ons for VTRs at decent prices all the time. Best of luck and let us know how you make out

cheers

Hey, I just found a pic of SIL cans on a Ducati ST4S. It's on the speedzilla.com forum - I'll try to post the link. It's a few pages down in the "General Ducati Chat" section - the thread is called "Dymag Wheels - Color choice?" The guy posted pics of his bike, and it has SIL Motor carbon fiber cans.

Talking end of the story

Well, the ending of this little adventure was....

I sent an e-mail off to the on-line shop to ask about the SIL's and said I would be interested in buying the jet kit and air filter along with it and possibly some other items etc. etc. .... never heard anything back. So after waiting re sent info. Still nothing. So I decided to go with the Yoshimura RS-3's. Just had them on today and they sound great! I am enjoying the slight difference to the powerband - haven't had it out on the twisty's or the highway yet, but the weekend is coming. I'll post some pics when its not raining here!
