RC51 rads on VTR?

Has anyone run or tried to fit RC51 rads to the VTR? Just curious as in modded form the engine could surely benefit from the addtional cooling they provide (aside: hope to get some hi-comp pistons in mine some day....)

actually, I just found a pic from a forum member which shows what these look like on the VTR and I don't think they'd fit under the stock bodywork (never realized how much larger they were...) Oh well.....

My VTR is running good now (although I am using a larger oil cooler and running Engine Ice to keep things cool). I do wonder about how the cooling system would handle the added heat from higher comp pistons though...

The other mods are already being worked on:
- swingarm brace
- powdercoating (black) of new arm, peg and rear caliper brackets
- adding reservoir and damping adjustment, straight-rate lighter spring to shock

May look at a relay kit for the headlight too.... I would love to do some pistons but can`t justify it at this time....

my seven month-old daughter and the fact that the licence plate for my bike will be up over $1000 this year (public liability insurance is included with plate; cruisers, on the other hand, will only pay $500).....

Congrats on the little one

$1000 for a plate is highway robbery!

it is when you have a clean driving record. If I was a 16 year-old kid caught repeatedly doing wheelies on his R1 I could understand. I guess to the open-minded civil servants that decide such matters, we are both one and the same. Of course, if I sold the VTR and bought a HOG I would instantly become respectable in their eyes (just one more reason for me to hate f***in' Harleys....)

I feel your pain! If it weren't for the "I'm better than you" Harley lovers attitude I'd bought a HOG a long time ago...as it is I'll never buy one...RC
