mine's on the left. the hose from the shock to the reservoir was way too long to fit on the right side since the shock is offset to that side as well. don't forget to set sag settings and ride height

I liked the right side as it's further from the hot exhaust.

Mine(Wilbers) is on the right side.
After done that I realize the rear brake pump is very close to the reservior.
Till now everything is ok, though I have rode some very bumpy road.

I have mine mounted on the left as well... just like #9 I didn't want the hose to be kinked up trying to mount it on the right.

I guess my main concern was that I installed it wrong but i guess you can have it rotated 180 degrees either way and it doesnt matter?

if you're concerned about the heat from the pipe (a very justified concern IMHO given the tremendous heat and limited airflow in that area), simply heat wrap the pipe. I did mine for that reason. As I had lots of heat-wrap left, I did both pipes right up to the section where they meet up. In addition to helping control the heat (which surely heats up the oil pan too and contributes excessive heat to an engine that is already "thermally-challenged"), the extra heat staying in the pipe will help exhaust scavenging by keeping the exhaust gases hotter and enhancing flow, netting a very slight performance improvement (will certainly not harm it anyhow)

cheers
