What are MTB handle bars?
Please excuse my ignorance.
On another note I can't help thinking that this brace would also have a certain amount of flex that may be compatible with the frame flex especially with side loads on the frame with cornering.
I for one enjoy the fact that the frame flexes on the VTR when pushing on and enjoy the feel. Sort of like feedback that let's you know that you are pushing the boundaries and it is time to back off.
Some of the later bikes that I have ridden do not have this feel and can catch you out if you are not on your game.
Still interested though as I think this brace would still help to retain the feedback, but step it up a notch or two.
If anyone gets around to fitting this and experiencing it before Mike, please let us know your thoughts.
I am almost certain that there are a few candidates on here that will try it soon.

Keep us posted mate!
If the brace improves things to the same extent as the braced swinger this thing could be a goer for a lot of folks on here that like to press on when riding the Storm.
I found an old rear tyre the other day that was on the bike before I did the swingarm brace and it's obvious that the tyre on the bike with the brace is more worn towards the edges due to the extra confidence with the braced rear swinger.
Very interested in this idea!

So I happen to have some 1 1/4" x 2" flat bar in the shop..
and some Ti 2" rod
The Ti Im not set up to weld, though I can machine it to required dimensions, then have it welded.
The Al flat bar could be machined size, drilled and tapped as a single piece ...hmmmmm

That is an interesting idea. Would the bar have to be selected to have the least amount of swept back bend ? Or do you think tweaking a standard bar work?
Finally, any ideas on how one would attach the chopped ends to the frame?

I ended up making a steel brace.
