HATED IT!
Whoever said the EFI was "flawless" must be crazy or only have ridden EFI bikes.
Hate the way the gas is either on or off. No in between, no throttle feel, no lag for the carbs to kick in.
Felt like some electric scooter.
I'll keep my carbed Superhawk forever if all EFI systems are as artificial feeling as the SV650's.
Best,
Gunny
must be an sv thing, my gixxer is fi and i love the smooth power delivery it has compared to the carbd hawk. although the carbs give it that raw feel you cant replicate with fi

Yeah Honda has lost their way. I am a Honda guy & have had them for 30yrs straight but what happened? They got nuts along the line. Maybe eccentric is the word. They built the company on super user-friendly bikes & what happened? I love my VTR but my race bikes are kawis and the sv.

Kind of reminds me of sony in electronics. Was great, now iffy.

I think all the manufacturers do goofy stuff, but Honda is perhaps the goofiest. They do make a couple of models I wouldn't mind having.

I probably am just old and used to carbs.
Never had a FI bike till I got the SV.

Drilled some 1/2" holes in my baffles today and am loving the new throaty sound!
Best to all,
Gunny

Get a Yoshimura slip-on, like I did on my wife's bike when it was 2 weeks old, and it'll sound even better. Plus you'll get rid of that huge stock can and save about a ton of weight.

Thanks for the tip.
Can you send me the $500?
Please?

Seriously, I am not much of a knee dragger anymore, even though my new Pilot Pure's sure do grip nice.
Probably would never know the difference in the un-sprung weight of the Yoshi slip-ons vs. my stock cans, though I bet they sound wicked.
Best,
Gunny
