If you didn't put a sheet of thin foam for smoothing, and after replacing the cover, could you see the rough cut edges of the new stuff?

Not at all, the fabric is very thick.

That looks like an awesome job. Did a similar thing to a cbr seat. My only question is, with all that change, why start with an expensive custome seat? You could've sold it and done this to a stocker, no?

I just bought the bike and i found the seat incredibly uncomfortable. I have a long ride coming up this week end and i had to do something quick. The bike did not come with the stock seat unfortunately. It came out really good so i dont regret my decision. I made a good product even better.

I hope you took the minute to sew on a mudkicker label right next to the corbin tag.

As a matter of fact, during winter I am going to make a new cover for it. The Corbin cover is pretty worn and VERY slippery. At that point, I will embroider something cool on the side.
I used to be an upholsterer for 10 years when I was young.
The problem with this Corbin, the foam that they use is very high density and very hard. That is good to have as a base, but they should put a top layer of something less dense to make it more comfortable.
I did a very fast job due to timing. When i have time I will make it great and post more detailed pictures of the process.

Is it memory foam ? Or, do you suggest something else since you've been in the industry.
