just picked up a new Superhawk! Need advise

Hello everyone..ive been following this board for a while now and just picked up a mint 2003 with 1100 miles from the original owner, who purchaced from the dealer in may of this year as a leftover..to say the least , i'm psyched. Anyway, i just fitted a set of LEO high mounts and was wonering about jetting and settings. which kit is perfered by the group, factory pro or DJ? or does it even matter. are the included instructions the best recomendations for settings or has some one found a better adjustment? Thanks in advance

Factory Pro for the jet kit. Stick with the stock filter. It's easier to tune for. What's your elevation?

Hi,

Maybe we can ride together sometimes, I'm in CT about 1 1/2 hours away from NYC. Some nice back roads here in CT and upstate NY.

Congratulations on the purchase!!

Okay, with high mounts you want to jet just a tad leaner than lowmounts. So, with the Factory 1.0 or 1.1 Ti kit use a 182/185 f/r main jet, stock idle jets, needle clips second from bottom, and mixture screws 2.0 turns out. After you're done jetting, reinstall the carbs and do a good synchronization.

Well, you can try using the K&N. There's about a 50% success rate jetting for it. The 1.1 Ti kit will last longer.
