Hybrid Ceramic Bearings

http://www.bearingengineering.com/

If you have been looking at the new Hybrid Ceramic bearings to get the last little bit out of your bike but have been put off by the outrageous price of them I have an option for you.

Contact Jason @ 510 746 3000 (the San Leandro location) and he can get them for you at around $40 each.

While I haven't used them myself and can't vouch for them in anyway, I do use this company for all the bearings I do buy.

I would throw a set in but as I'm in the middle of a front end swap and the M4 thing is in the wings my budget is pretty tapped right now. Give me a few months and I'll have more info.

I just picked up some of these for my PVMs (2 6004s for the front and three 6204s for the back) and will be putting them in shortly. From the research I have done, they work very well at reducing friction and rolling resistance (reduced friction = free horsepower, not to mention aiding in fuel economy too). The are lighter and last longer too (supposedly).

I picked mine up on eBay for about the same price but as I have yet to install them, I can't really vouch for the quality of the units I bought. MIke's proposal, however, deals with a supplier he knows well so it should be a sound option for anyone contemplating this.

cheers

Since I'm doing a front end swap and have to buy bearings anyhow, this is a very tempting option.

Not sure if i'm in for the group buy, those usually take a while to get going, and I'm not sure if it would happen before the riding season.

Mike, what info would I need to take to them? The stock bearing number?

Well, they fit the rear wheel of the VTR and likely quite a few others using a 20 mm axle....

Looking at it more closely, my budget is tight, and $80 vs $20 from All ***** Racing....I will keep these in mind if I ever get the track as much as I'd like to.

The stock bearing number is all you need. They are available for just about any application.

I just got off the phone with Jason @ the San Leandro location. By the way, really cool guy. Unfortunitly they are out of my price range and don't sell in individual quantities. Here's what I inquired about:
CBR 600RR rear wheel (bearing part 6205) and VTR front wheel (bearing part 6004)
