Help preload and sag

The preload on my bike was set really soft when I bought my bike. It was bottoming out on speed bumps it was so soft. I have adjusted the preload all the way down even with the fork cap. The dampener is 1.5 turns out from all the way hard. The static sag is sitting at 22 mm. From my understanding, it should be betweeen 10-15mm so it is pretty far off.

Any help?

Another Bay Area rider.......

Sounds like you need some new springs and possibly some valving done.
So the next question is how much do you weigh and how do you ride the bike ( just mellow street, street and track days, etc) and then it comes to how much $$ you want to spend.

Shoot me a PM and I can help you out with the local resources.

I am about 165 pounds. I ride on the harder side but not crazy. I would like to keep it cheap for now. Maybe next year get the forks rebuilt if I can't take care of them now. I went on a little ride today and of course it is much better than what it was before. I am hoping that they don't worsen.

@165 you "should" be able to get it dialed in pretty good but the stock fork springs are rather wimpy. If you are every in the south bay, swing on by and we can see what we can do to get it set up for you.

Consider it a starting point to swap out the fork oil... That is usually stock from the factory on all bikes...

I have a set of forks fitted with Race Tech .85's and Gold valves adjusted to "full race" - from a trusted member here. These were bought as backup to another plan that I was working but were never used. $175 per peg. Also have triples, fairing stay and black fender.
