Fork oil level for 929 legs?

Hi,
I'm close to finishing up the major work on my Superchicken's rebuild and I need to know the oil level and viscosity for 929 forks. Anyone have a manual for that bike? They are from an '01.

FWIW, the only major parts salvagable from the wreck were the motor and frame. I've ebay'd wheels, forks, & swingarm. Still shopping for some items.

Here's a pic...

Cheers,
Greg

Hey Greg,

That looks like it is coming along quite well. I wish that I had an answer for you. I am in the process of swapping my front end as well.

I'd bet $20 that the stock oil is Showa SS-8. Check the specs on the recent fork oil thread. Level? Thank God for high speed internet - 53Mb later and the answer is......90mm, spring out, fork bottomed. And yes, it's SS-8.

Bike looks good though. I betcha she's really light right now. If only you could keep it that way, eh?

Thanks for the info.

I weighed her as a rolling chassis, wheels, controls, and brakes, but no fluids, seats, bodywork or wiring.

319 lbs.

Going to try to keep it under 400 .
