First experience - DJ stage 1

Well, I've just completed fitting the kit, and I was advised NOT to use a K&N filter along with the kit, instead I put a Pipercross filter on the Storm ... I couldn't wait to get it on the road and try out the result, and WOW, there is abig difference - quicker respons on the throttle, more even momentum all the way up through the gears, and even the 6th gear is usable now .. I haven't had it Dyno'ed yet, but the first impression is just great ..
The stock jets were size 175 on both sides, and are now replaced with size 190 .. The mix screw out 2½ turns and using groove 4 from top on the needles - still using stock springs .. I'll post the rsult from the Dyno when I get there .

Maybe this subject is "worn out", but I just wanted to share a great result

Btw, I got an install sheet for both US and Eu models, and on the US models you were to use different jets - Why is that ?

Only source I can find for what might explain it is here: http://www.ablett.jp/bikes/vtr/air_box2.htm

Euro-spec bike has slightly lumpier cams and higher compression, as well as the CDI is a bit different.

This is comparing a Japanese spec bike to a Euro one..

No clue how true this is.. but if so, perhaps I want some Firestorm cams! lol

Pheew .. Reading these forum pages about mod. and performance makes me realize what kind of a novice I am ...

These Moriwaki intakes are quite interesting, tho ... But is it really necessary to remove all the stuff in the air box to get a decent result ?
