Finally put on my Gilles rearsets

Been putting it off for awhile, but finally they are on! My baby finally has new...umm...well if tires are shoes, and wheels are socks....I guess my baby finally has new knees...?

Don't mind the scrapes. :P

Actually, I had them placed at the highest/furthest back position, but my boots rubbed against the passenger footpeg brackets. At this point, I'm going to either:

A) Remove the passenger pegs and fabricate some type of adapter, or
B) Put the stock pipes back on (the high-mount adapter gets in the way).

So I guess selling it is on the back burner for now eh? The Harris rear sets gave it a completly different feel and helped with shifting. Same thing with those?

I have not had a chance to ride it in anger yet, but it feels like the shifting action is better (more positive...easier to click into each gear). It is probably my imagination though.

I am now thinking about selling the KTM. I will give it a few more tries, but it's hard to give up the supersport/hanging-off fun.

Funny how hard it is to get rid of an old friend. I don't think the feel of shifting is in your head though I noticed a big difference when I swapped mine.

I am glad I splurged and purchased good quality rearsets (thanks again CNIDawg!). I had OSF versions for my GSXR awhile back, and they flexed when I stood on them. :O

That would do wonders for your confidence, I love my Harris rear sets.

Those are purty!

Time to take some Foamy Gunk and a toothbrush to that area around the countersprocket and the sidestand.

Enjoy them....they are the best !!

I'm riding Vortex rear sets now.
They are nice but not as good as the Gilles

Missing my good old S'hawk.
The 600RR is a harder bike to ride smoothly & not near as comfy !
Wish I could afford 2 bikes ....oh well

Hahaha, yeah, that's definitely next on the to-do list.

How's the 600RR CNI?

Only if I extend my Achilles heel. For the most part, the boots don't touch the pipe. Plus, the bracket from the passenger pegs gets in the way.

I know this is an old post but where did you purchase the rear sets from?
Are you still using them?
How are they holding up?

I bought them from CNI Dawg here on SHF (you'll see it a few posts up). But the bike was sold long ago. I have other friends with Gilles and they love them, and their rearsets are holding up just fine.

you can rotate your pegs back 1" and up 1 1/2" for nothing> I have mine this way as well as others who I got the idea from and they work well. I rode a long time with stock position and never felt quite comfortable. If you don't like it put it back or buy adjustibles. It only takes about an hour or so to make the change. Seems to be easier on the wrists too.
