CBR929 Swap clip-on info
We are 95% done with my CBR929 front end swap and I had a few pics I wanted to share about the clip-on location and the ability to use the 929 clip-on instead of buying aftermarket bars.
Just for reference here is what I have in the swap money wise:
$200 Complete front end
$25 Steering head bearings
$75 Honda OEM fork and dust seals, both sets of bushings and fork oil
$80 Racetech 1.10 springs from ebay from a bike shop that got stuck with a return order.
$80 for two basically brand new 929 front disc from a Fireblades.org member
$20 for a local friend/mechanic to do some shim stack shuffling.
$480 total out of pocket and swapped 4 lights in a paint booth at my buddies body shop for a CBR1000 front fender, this front end didn't have one because it came off a F4i stunt bike.
All that's left to do is bleed the brakes and paint and install the front fender and the horn. When I get time this weekend to get it all cleaned up will post some better shots of the clip-ons and the spacing.

But what you also have to account for is selling your old parts. I broke even except for $50 when I did my front end swap. So I did invest the money but then I got it all back pretty much

Yeah I wouldn't even think anyone would want these forks. I will sell the GSXR1000 six pots that were on it and I think I have another 600rr/929 front master cylinder sitting around. The stock bars suck because of the weird angle. I think the wheel would sell.

Yea I thought the same thing. I lucked out cut the PO already CBR 900rr forks on the bike which is a substantial upgrade to the stockers so they sold easily. It will all sell though. Especially those 6 pots.

Jerry, usually not a complete RC swap!!!

You are correct on that one, that's a lot of money to throw on a stunt bike.
929/954 swap is really common with stunt bikes. So if you happen to come by a stunt bike part out on craigslist you can usually get the parts cheap.
I just got lucky when searching ebay and picked up a set of 954 forks for $125. It's the first purchase for the swap I've made.

Front end came off one of my riding buddies F4i stunt bike. He blew the motor and bought another F4i with a complete front end on it and I gave him $200 for the complete swap and I installed a bunch of new lights in one of his paint booths for the labor.
