I love those HSR42s. I have three of them in my car.

Got all parts today, air filter, Factory pro star shifter, and some brake pads.

Put the rest of the bike back together. put some gas in and................

It started right off!! ran for about 15 ~20 seconds and first Im thinkin woohoo!, then Im thinkin, what the hell is it running on? I had emptied the fuel bowls for the jets, just put gas in and how did the gas get thru the vacum petcock, fill the carbs and start on the first revolution?????????????

It died, then I drained the battery trying to get it running, It would start and run for a second then die. battery charger, all combos of choke etc and all I can get is a second of sputter the off.

So, Ill deal with it tomorrow.

good luck. that is always frustrating when you're excited to see how it runs. be sure that vacum hose on the back of the petcock is to the right port - I still put it on the nipple sticking straight down everyone once in awhile by mistake instead of the one heading off to the left.

well, I had the vacume to the petcock and tube to the vent reversed (dohh) I didnt get a pic of the tank hoses because the tank was in the way. I did take pics of the other hoses etc just because of what I just did.

It runs fine. Took it for a short ride and 1/4 throttle to 1/2 throttle seems nice/smooth. to much traffic to see how WOT works.

Next weekend is trackday woohoo!!
