98 strip
98 strip
Well Friday night i went to the local drags. Ive never ran that bike before on the strip although i have ran a 600. Bike ran a 11.7 quarter at 121 mph. Take offs were where i was slow. My hydro. clutch acts up if you try to dump it or let it out over a certain rpm. So i basically had to start off the line how i do leaving every stop light. Then rail it
It was fun being out of the whole faster on the back wheel then a stock r1
But that r1 smocked me top end. Bike had 1/4 gallon of 91 oct. in it and a whole gallon of 110 oct. It actually hindered the bike and was cutting out at very high rpm. Some of the go pro videos i got are pretty sweet with it being mounted on the tank
Why is that?
I am an old newbie to the SH world and I noticed that I can't hold the revs up and control launches by the clutch without it acting up. At first I just thought it was my old age but I've read of other people having launch problems as well. Is this just a SH thing as they were designed as road, not drag, bikes.
This R1 pulled up next to me last week with his hat tucked into the rear pillion, white tennis shoes and all, but that squid was off the line before I could think about it. Thing sounded sweet too with that new firing order. Point is...Our bikes suck off the line, but are great most everywhere else.
