520 chain conversion

Who knows the best place to find 520 sprockets for the SuperHawk?

Thanks

Welcome to SupersproxUSA.com

these are tough-*** outer steel/inner alum sprockets.

I first bought a vortex alum 520 and it was cupping by 3000miles(POS); now i have an AFAM high tensil alum and it has been good although I just turned it around because the teeth were wearing at 10,000miles. So i believe supersprox may be your best bet.

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
I have to agree that the Vortex are the worst and the AFAM are the best if you want to run Al sprockets,

I do like the look of the stealth sprockets my iss is that they don't make a 41T.

So this time I am going to run one of these:
Superlite Black 520 Conversion Steel Rear Sprocket - HONDA Sprocket Center

I will be ordering this kit up :
520 Conversion Kit - Superlite Steel Sprocket Set w/D.I.D. Brand Premium 520 X'ring Chain - HONDA VTR 1000F '97-06 Sprocket Center

and will let you guys know how it goes.

Or if you just want to go cheap, the JT sprockets work fine though they are heavy and do make a bit of noise.

Just did a 520 conversion on my 06. Driven 16T front, DriveSystems 45T rear (+2), and RK520 Goooold chain. Didn't want the wheelie machine combo of -1 +2 so I just went +2 . I'm 100% street.

Spoiledcitygirl, +2 is a 43tooth rear sprocket, stock is 41.

My bad I just realized your bike is not a Superhawk, so as Gilda Radnor used to say "Never mind".

I'm using this Superlite right now with 520, absolutely love it and yes it is really light weight!
Good choice!!!

I like that superlite setup but am curious how many miles a 520 goes before wearing on a torque monster bike. I was so tempted but stuck with 530 for long life.

Not sure, but a 520 can give a very decent amount of miles, especially if you get the best chain possible with the highest rate like the - D.I.D. 520ERV3 - and you should be set for long enough time!

I had a 520 on a built zx10 and a built GSXR1000 that I tracked fairly often and had really good luck with them. But I religiously lubed and maintained proper adjustment. Never did wear out the chains or sprockets ~ sold the bikes with them still on and in good shape. With today's technology I have no fear of running one on a torque monster twin like the SH.

Try here. Best price I could find for complete kit. Been riding with this for awhile now and all still looks good..... Give them a call and they will set you up for whatever gearing you want. There is no listing for superhawk on the website but just call them and they will hook you up for that same price.
