2 into 1 exhaust

I saw awhile back that somebody had 2 into 1 exhaust. Who makes it? Worth it? I am having issues trying to get a mid pipe (that I crunched on my lowside) and am wondering, if i cant get that , then how much for a 2 into 1.
Thanks

Hehe, nobody. You have to make it yourself. Fairly easy to do if you know a decent welder.

I believe Hindle made one years ago. There is also a British company named JAG that makes one (have a look at the vtr1000.org site for more info) that looks quite interesting. The sad reality is that performance parts for the VTR are going the way of the dodo bird....

Jardine made a super sweet 2-1 system for the RC51's for a short time. A friend of mine paid the big bucks for one and I can say it was well worth it. Some people who have tried this on the VTR's report problems, so if you want to try be prepared for some trial and error work.

D&D makes one. Its called the Hawk High Pipe Only. I was going to get it until i found out that it was a 2 into 1 system. I prefer the look of both pipes. I found it at morepoweracing.com. There are no pictures but the salesman that i talked to on the phone told me about it.

My custom Mori single side caused me to lose torque but gain a little on the top end. Dunno how it worked but it did. Beat Hammer's well tuned bike with TBR slip-ons and the K&N in a roll on.

RC51's headers will NOT bolt on. Mufflers with a bit of fussing will. FYI

I think the Hawk High Pipe is for the Hawk 650, not the 996.

Getting back to the JAC 2-1, I recall reading that it boosted the mids at the cost of some top-end.

Here is a link: http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB2/viewto...ht=jac+exhaust

I sent an e-mail to the owner of J.A.C. exhausts enquiring about the availability and performance of the 2-1 system. I will post the info when (and if) I get it.

cheers

i'm thinking about making a single side exhaust. i bought a used header off of ebay to sacrifice and have a yoshi carbon can laying around. I'm gonna cut the header at the end of the 2-1 portion then have my exhaust guy build a mid pipe for a high mount to the megaphone part on the yoshi(gonna cut it) I plan on using a little larger sized pipe so not to restrict it as much. i look for this to be done around next month or in may, depending on time and financial status (poor college student who needs his transportation!!!)

Jesse,

Definilty keep us in the loop (and with pics) I'm doing a VFR swingarm swap and will be in need of 2 into 1'ing the exhaust... I'd love to see what your guy comes up with so i can get some ideas.

I have a 2 into one on my single sided swingarm bike but don't know its origin. I had to do some mods to it to make it clear the Penske shock.

Thought it would hurt torque like Ive seen on other bikes but just makes a tiny dip in upper midrange.
