To vinyl wrap, or not to vinyl wrap?

So, been giving some thought to possibly vinyl wrapping my forks black. Had it on before but (foolishly) peeled it off so am now debating whether I should re-do them...

Picture taken this morning (started right away after winter in storage, woohoo!):
Name: IMG_2382_zpsyhv8nte7.jpg

Size: 401.4 KB
Blacked out forks (with Paint software):

FYI: New bars (replacing red from last year)... stealthier looking...
IMG_2385_zpsuzsp7x61.jpg?t=1492879896

so, yes or no to vinyl wrapping forks?

As long as you're asking, I say no.

I say no too. I like the highlight of the more modern USD fork.

Yah-huh. But we're Americans. We make bold statements. Remember, mikstr, you're Canadian and if you want a more pedestrian look, you want your bike to look like every other VTR on the road, then wrap 'em.

Kinda of on the fence on this one. I like the modern look, but would be nice black also.

Well, I guess I'm no help.

I like the gold cause it let's you see the suspension. It's not a piece of bolt-on bling, it's a major component and that's how it came. Black, it'll get lost visually in the shadows of the front end.

I just have a thing for gold suspension components, too. Don't have any, just the thing for em.

Besides, on mikstr's bike, just painting them black seems a cop-out. Now, if you could find some carbon fiber forks, then we'd be talkin'.

sadly, the only bike to come with carbon forks was the last generation NR500...

When I did my USD I wrapped the gold in black electrical tape to see what it looked like.

They are still gold, but then I am a bling monster!

If its a vote I say stay gold. Looks better. Didn't know anyone who had gold wanted black, thought it was just the other way round.

Yes he does. He's now shopping for carbon gas and oil.

I can't imagine what his carbon footprint must be. I'm sure he's dragging down the rest of the northern hemisphere.
