VHT Paint and Laquers

Hey guys, wondered if anyone had some ideas on the following. I want to paint my front exhaust section with VHT paint. (very high temp). I then want to laquer it and also do the same to the engine casing. I'm concerned about heat dispersal from the engine and exhaust and any adverse effects doing this may have. Has anyone done it? If so what's the score? I may be worrying about nothing but rather be safe than sorry.

Cheers!

Jet hot coating is one option

Check the VHT FAQ - Not sure why and if you can laquer (for glossy finish?) exhaust manifold close to the cylinder head - if you do, don't expect the finish to last long due to high temps. Best get it ceramic coated but again the glossier you want it the less it can be guaranteed.

Satin Black finishes are OK to 2000 degrees

Was after a glossy finish but understand why the heat exposure will make it dull and matt out. What's jet hot coating?

As long as the surface is thoroughly prepared inside and out, the a Jet-Hot coating (metalic-ceramic) or ceramaic finish will outlast and outfinish a painted finish.

A bit dearer but you pays your money and takes your choice....

I have wrapped headers topped off with black VHT. The paint has been holding up great on there. Its been on since spring. The temp. just at idle reaches nearly 800 degrees, I checked with an infrared thermometer. So i don't think there is anything to worry about with the paint. The laquer however I have no experience with.
