Touring windscreen vs. Double Bubble?

Touring windscreen vs. Double Bubble?
Anyone on here that's tried both? Is the curved end of the touring going to distort the view through it? Is the DB going to melt my guages or is that a myth?
I spend too much time commuting at 90mph on my bike. I want something that will take the wind off my chest and neck on longer trips.
Is too much wind protection a bad thing? Am I going to get tired hands from holding myself up without the wind? I mainly just get sick of my head bobbing around in the slightest cross wind, and the noise wears me out.
Are there any downsides to either besides looking like a dork?

There seems to be a few different DB versions and I think I've even seen 2 different types of touring screens.
I'll see if I can dig them up.
Any particular brands to avoid?
Maybe the guage melting is just a RC51 thing? With the LCDs they have?
I rode my girl's Ninja 500 on the freeway and you can almost hear your heartbeat when you duck behind that thing!

I've had a dark smoke zero gravity DB on my 2000 SH since 2001, no melted gauges. I havent tried a touring screen so I couldnt comment.
The DB raised the air pocket behind it up a bit , air hits me pretty much in the shoulders - IIRC its a bit higher then the stock screen but I havent ridden the bike with the stock screen on in 7 years.

I have the ZG Sport Tourer....Im 6'4....the bike is black. I needed something for wind protection and I think this works great....
The dark smoke colour and the black bike kinda blend in a little better....

I have ZeroGravity DB dark smoke (almost black) I love it, and it 'looks' cool!!! 
I've been putting a cloth (Ya Cleveland, something soft from my lingerie drawer) over the instruments but it blew off or something one day... I don't think I'm in any danger of the gauges melting.

I have the ZG sport/tour as well. At 6'3" it gives me a little more to get behind and out of the wind. It doesn't distort the vision, but it does vibrate a little at higher speeds.

Huh? I've never heard of such a thing. I did a brief search and couldn't come up with anything besides your thread.
Where does this myth originate from?
I have a DB on mine and have no problems with gauges melting or any other that LOL. Bike has nearly 14k miles now and P.O. said the DB sheild has been on about half that time.

I removed it and then painted the front of the screen like the stock one ~1/8th of the way up, and it never got worse.
My gauge cluster is still melted…
On a side note, the distributor gave me a free hugger to make up for their ‘mistake’

Hmm, well mine is very dark so maybe that's why I haven't had an issue. It gets much hotter here than in Cali BTW. I can't even see thru mine in the daytime or at night. Only when I pull in real close to the wall in my garage and my headlight lghting up the wall can I see barely thru the sheild.
I am not sure if mine is a ZG, PUIG or what. There are no stickers or markings on the outside of the sheild. Only on the inside is there some raised lettering and info on the plastic near where the mirrors bolt in. I will check when I get home to see what kind of shield it is, if there is any brand markings on the raised info.

The melting is right at the 'point' which is the front of the gauge cluster.
I will try and take a picture or two when I get some time...

Something splattered on my stock screen 2 weeks ago, and it won't wash or polish off.
So I'm looking for replacement, stock type with dark smoke. Anyone have a suggestion for brand or distributor? I want new, good quality. Is Lockhart any good?
