Success: Olive metallic paint match for engine covers
I spent some time at the local O'Reilly's auto parts with the paint manager and was able to successfully match the olive metallic paint color for the sprocket, stator, clutch, and forks found on 2003 and up Superhawks. We used a sun gun on color chips inside, as well as going outside under direct and indirect sunlight. The color we matched was Audi's Dakar Beige Metallic base. The pearl flop and tonal color were nearly identical. My sprocket cover is peeling due to a failed slave cylinder seal, and I plan to paint all engine side covers once I get the replacement gaskets from Honda. I might use a satin clear to seal the paint to match the mostly-matte look of the OEM paint finish. I got two rattle cans filled for about $48.
