So I've got a project VTR and I'm thinking about a set of spoked rims (wheels) for it.
The front is easy as it will have either an R1 or GSXR conversion and spoked hubs for those are easy to find but the rear is a different story.
A bit of research tells me that the CRF1000 Africa Twin uses the same cush drive as a VTR, which makes me consider it might be a viable donor.
But I doubt I'm the first person to think of this, so I'm wondering if anyone has already been down this road?
If so what hubs out there work?
There is a thread on VTR1000.org but the general answer has been just to contact blah blah blah and they will build you a set of wheels, personally I'd rather see if there are alternatives out there?
Yes, realise that Wicky, it was about donor hub not wheel and one that could be sourced here in Australia.
It's easy to rerim and spoke to suit, wheel builders are everywhere here because of the popularity of MX.
The thread from .org that you have linked actually doesn't talk about what hub that streetfighter build used.
Spoked wheels isn't a common mod for the VTR - as most folk look to fit plug&play five spoked wheels from other Hondas

The thread I linked to shows it can be done and gives a clue to the UK mag in which the bike featured, if you can get hold of a back copy it could give you a lead to the builder.
Thanks mate, yeah knew all that.
In the .org thread someone, who I believe is still active on the forum, mentions they know the builder, so I'll contact them.
Cheers.
