Question about rear tire hugger

Hi, I was hoping on some input from somebody who has a hugger installed. Does it help from your rear tire kicking up buckets of water onto your back? Every time I ride on wet roads, my back gets soaked. Thanks for the input

Wink

It happens to rain quite a bit where I live/ride. As ugly as it is, the stock rear fender does a good job of fending off the "skunk stripe" you normally find on the back of your shirt after a wet ride. Due to its mounting position, a hugger won't offer this protection to the rider, but it might keep your rear shock from getting real dirty. I think a huggers main attribute is looks and the extra revenue it generates for shops when they say "we gotta take off the hugger to change out your rear tire".

Opposite opinion... that little flap dealie protects the shock, but that's about it. I have a Puig hugger & it takes care of the problem you mentioned just fine.

Got a picture of it? I'm thinking of purchasing a Puig or Pyramid hugger in the next two weeks.

I have a Puig.
And stock fender. I knew there was a reason I left the fender on.

The Puig fit my Pilot Powers just fine. D208's rubbed on it.
And every other tire as well.
I had to cut it to stop the rubbing.

You do not have to take off a hugger to take the rear wheel off.

Mine is the same. If yours is what Erik calls an "overlayer" duplicate - they are thin as typing paper - all carbon fiber - and about $180. Tiny but still gets the bad out the back. Fitment on my bike was perfect.

Well, ****! That didn't turn out too well. You can just barely see it at about 2oc. It's damn hard to see with the naked eye because the CF pattern makes it look like the tire - a little road grim helps with this. It does run close to my Powers but has never rubbed. Got from a member here but he wasn't around long.

Yeah, mine is all carbon fiber but it is pretty stout. Not thick but surely not paper thin. Great fit on mine also, haven't had a tire rub yet..
